NAD+ is a coenzyme, not a peptide. Its full name is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. Its first job is carrying electrons: it switches between NAD+ and NADH and moves electrons through three stages: glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation and the citric acid cycle.
Its second job: some enzymes use it up. Sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 split NAD+ as part of their reaction. That ties its level in the cell to DNA repair, deacetylation and calcium signalling. So researchers study how much NAD+ is available, not only the NAD+/NADH ratio.

Unopened vials. Store at 2–8 °C. For long periods, −20 °C or colder. Room temperature is fine in transit, but it is not a way to store a compound.
After reconstitution. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C. Do not freeze: ice crystals break the compound down for good. In bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol), labs usually work through a vial within about 30 days. With plain sterile water, the window is 24–48 hours.
Keep vials closed and out of the light. If you hold frozen stock, thaw it as few times as you can; each cycle loses some activity.

NAD+ is the oxidised form and NADH the reduced form of one coenzyme. Plain “NAD” usually means the pair. These vials contain the oxidised form, NAD+.
