On requestGHK is a three-residue sequence present in human plasma. Bound to copper, it becomes GHK-Cu. Skin, regeneration and wound-healing studies cite it often, and cosmetic science uses it as a reference compound.

GHK stands for glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a sequence present in human plasma. GHK-Cu is its copper(II) complex. The copper is held by a nitrogen of the histidine imidazole ring and by the N-terminal amine. The result is stable and dissolves well.
From that structure, papers describe two jobs. It carries copper into cells. It also shifts gene expression in skin and wound models. Plasma GHK drops with age, one reason it keeps returning in skin and regeneration work.

Unopened vials. Store at 2–8 °C. For long periods, −20 °C or colder. Room temperature is fine in transit, but it is not a way to store a peptide.
After reconstitution. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C. Do not freeze: ice crystals break the peptide down for good. In bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol), labs usually work through a vial within about 30 days. With plain sterile water, the window is 24–48 hours.
Keep vials closed and out of the light. If you hold frozen stock, thaw it as few times as you can; each cycle loses some activity.

GHK is the tripeptide on its own (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, CAS 49557-75-7). GHK-Cu is that tripeptide with a copper(II) ion attached. Most skin and wound studies use the copper form.
